It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

We were very excited to start decorating for Christmas! We knew that as soon as Thanksgiving was over, we would hurry up and pick out a tree. Troy really wanted to go to a tree farm where he could cut down a tree, but since Vanessa has been feeling a little under the weather, we had to resort to a pre-cut tree farm closer to home. (No...we couldn't wait another week!) So off to Bambi's Tree Farm we went yesterday afternoon. (Located here in Roseville.) We found the perfect six and a half foot Noble Fir (next year we'll choose a Silver Tip - Troy's favorite) and knew we wanted to get it flocked! We picked it up this afternoon and it looks beautiful! We are so happy we decided to get our tree flocked. As soon as we brought it home, we trimmed the tree and put up most of our Christmas decor! The tree looks great in the front window of the house! (Vanessa's dream come true to have a house with a window front and center to display a Christmas tree!)

Vanessa was extra excited to put out all the new Christmas finds she has been stashing away for the past year! We also bought lights to put up on the outside of our house and we'll have to work on hanging those up this week/weekend. Everything is coming together and is very festive! We definitely love this time of the year! And it just so happens to be our 3 year anniversary today! It was a great way to spend the day together decorating for Christmas together for the first time in our new home! (In the past, we have planned getways for our anniversaries, but we both really wanted to enjoy this anniversary in the comfort of our new house) Here are some pics of everything so far!

Here we are right after we brought the tree into the house!

Ta da!!!!!! Here it is! Flocked, decorated and beautiful! We have been going with a blue and silver theme since we have been together! Troy loves blue and silver and Vanessa loves looking for new ornaments to add to the color scheme every year!

Since we dont' have a fireplace, we really wanted something unique to hang our stockings on. Vanessa found this at a craft fair this year and it works perfectly!

Another find Vanessa has been stashing away since the after Christmas sales last year!

Decor on our bar/counter in the kitchen.
